Golf Outing Recap
A smashing success!
The 2023 Becky’s Warriors Golf Outing was held on Friday, July 28th, at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont, IL. The event was a smashing success with over 100 golfers and dinner attendees participating.
Ultimately, we raised over $26,000 for the organization. Given the weather that day (it was in the mid 90s and HUMID!), the event exceeded our expectations and turned out to be the best.year.ever!
Thank you to all who came out and helped to make the day memorable. To our partners, our sponsors, our volunteers, our photographers, and the wonderful team at Ruffled Feathers – you’re the best!
A few pics are featured below and if you’d like to see a full recap of all the pictures, please visit Meggan Healy Florell’s (MCHS ‘94) webpage where you’ll see tons of fantastic shots: https://florellphoto.client-gallery.com/gallery/beckys-warriors-2023-golf-outing
The day was capped off by a moving tribute from John Scudella. John’s wife, Mary, recently ended her battle with cancer. He spoke lovingly of her, their family, and their experience with Becky’s Warriors. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room and it was a bittersweet reminder of why we do what we do at Becky’s Warriors.
Our team has already started planning the 2024 Golf Outing which will be our 10th year – if you’d like to get involved, please let us know!
Spike Out Cancer Invitational
On Saturday, October 7th, Becky’s Warriors will be partnering with Marian Catholic High School and the freshman Lady Spartans for a an 8-team Spike Out Cancer Invitational Tournament. The Tournament will be held at Marian Catholic High School (700 Ashland Avenue, Chicago Heights, IL 60411).
We’ve successfully worked with Coach Hannah Krydynski and her staff several times previously for indivdual games, but this is the first time that we’re partnering for a tournament.
Games will begin at 8AM and there will be a $5 gate fee for adults and a $3 gate fee for students and adults over 65.
Prayers and Swears
Over the past several months, we’ve helped several families that are going through a cancer battle.
Please take a moment and say a prayer with us for all these families. Ask God to give these families the inner strength to continue on and do their best as they go through treatments, exams, doctor visits, and daily life.
And once you’ve finished that prayer, don’t hesitate to drop an expletive of your choice in Cancer’s general direction.
